October 24, 2008
Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother found shot to death. Jennifer’s 7 year old nephew, Julian King went missing. News media reported that a 1994 white Suburban was last seen leaving the scene. The Chicago police issues an Amber Alert looking for:
· William Balfour considered armed and dangerous
· 7 year old African American boy named Julian King
· 1994 White Chevy Suburban, License Plate Number X584859
· Chrysler Concorde 4 door sedan
Chicago police releases a mug shot photo of the alleged suspect (William Balfour) and reports that he is allegedly involved with Jennifer Hudson’s sister Julia.
Chicago Police takes William Balfour into custody but have no sign of Julian King.
October 25, 2008
Julian King still missing. Video of Julia Hudson asking for the safe return of her son and for the public’s prayers surfaces. The Amber Alert still in effect...The Hudson family releases photos of what Julian King was possibly dressed in. The FBI joins in the search for Julian and the 1994 white Chevy Suburban.
October 26, 2008
The Chicago police passes out flyers containing information about Julian King and the circumstances following his disappearance and to aid in help finding the child in the vicinity of 75th Street and Halsted.
Jennifer Hudson and family offers a $100,000 reward for the safe return of Julian King.
Police do not have a motive for the killings of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson and brother Jason Hudson but have called the case “domestic related.” Suspect William Balfour had not been charged. The Cook County Medical Examiners Office confirms that Jennifer Hudson had identified the bodies of her mother and brother.
Suspect William Balfour is transferred out of police custody and turned over to the Illinois Department of Corrections. Police states that the transfer of Balfour was “based on his active parole violation unrelated to this investigation.” Balfour was on parole for an unrelated crime where he had spent nearly seven years in prison.

Yep. They should be starting jury selection within a couple of months unless he confess before then. And, the way I see it, this case is going all the way to trial. His mom is standing by him thru think and thin though. _________________

*UPDATE IN THE JENNIFER HUDSON FAMILY MURDERS*
William Balfour, suspect in the Jennifer Hudson Family murders appeared in court today, June 24, 2010. The name "Ms. Cathey" surfaced for the first time in the proceedings as a witness for the prosecution. The defense asked for a leave to file a motion for discovery deposition of "Ms. Cathey." It was revealed in court that "Ms. Cathey" (Balfour's girlfriend at the time of the murders), submitted evidence "orally" to the prosecution and is the prosecution's essential witness.
The prosecution argued that there is no need for the defense to conduct a discovery deposition of "Ms. Cathey" stating anything the defense need to know about "Ms. Cathey" they can ask their client (Balfour).
The defense (public defenders), cited Supreme Court Rule 416 in support of their argument. Judge Lawrence Fox ruling on discovery deposition of "Ms. Cathey" continued by agreement to a week from today.

| Thanks for the updates. Time passes quickly at times and we tend to forget because the wheels of justice turn slowly. |
